I'm using Windows XP Pro and Verizon DSL. I was using the Verizon provided Westell 327W modem/router and it worked OK but I had to recycle the rounter often - very often. So I decided to switch back to the Westell Model 2200 modem and use a Linksys wrt54gs for the LAN.
