Changed broadband providers today and think it messed up my network/email
security or something.
I've set up my new email pop/smtp servers but this account will not send
msgs nor will any of my other email accounts send any email.  

Please help I'm baffled. I think I have a Firewall issue?
Had a home network working two PC's and two laptops all able to share files
and use a shared printer. Replaced my Wireless Router with a new Belkin N1
Wireless Router, created a new network name and key, all devices can see ...

I'm trying to connect a PC with Win98 by means of device D-Link DWL-G122 to
a WLAN managed by wireless router D-Link DI-524 (managing also 2 PCs with
WinXP on a LAN) and I don't succeed in pinging the PC notwithstanding the
icon on tray bar says it is connected. Now:

Came back from trip to discover that Dell C610 laptop could no longer
access the web on my home network.
Tried wireless; tried ethernet...no luck! (Network is otherwise OK--
even supplying hotspot to next door neighbor.)

I want to get names of avaible LAN computers available currently on
the same LAN, same as "only" names shown in "view workgroup
computers". I want to get it from command prompt and i know "net view"
does it. But i ONLY want to get computer names without "\\"prefix.

is there a way to set more than one lan connections[ethernet]? because i dont
want to change the ip settings everytime i change workplaces.

I want to know the IP address of a printer.  Are there any software that
can do this for me remotely or otherwise?  I tried printing the
configuration page from the printer but the IP address is somehow blocked.
This is a public printer used by all but managed by an ADMINISTRATOR.  ...

my husband left me on the 8th of october becoz he had some losses in
the business....he is not in contact with me....i know he will read my

found out that he is browsing from an internet cafe from chennai...now

I noticed that frequently after downloading a program through Firefox
and running the *.exe through Firefox download manager that I get an
error message that the program is not compatible with NT4. I didn't
think I had NT4! So checked it out and sure enough it running along

Two PCs, both running Windows XP Professional SP2. Cable broadband modem,
via D-Link DI-704P router.
* I used XP's Network Set-up on both PCs, using the same Workgroup name.
* Both PCs can ping each other by name.

I have a network with one xp and one vista. i used the same name for the
workgroup. i can see my xp in vista, and i can add and change and delete any
file in the xp through the network, but in my xp, i can see the vista in the
workgroup, but I can only access public folders, but ...

I have a computer that is connecting to the network and sending
packets but won't receive packets.  It is running XP SP2 and I checked
that it does not have the same IP as any other computers on the
network.  Can somebody please help me?

Why is windows limited in the network bandwidth it uses?

UNABLE TO SELECT SOFTWARE

I have a bt wireless adapter installed on a computer (win xp home) that keeps
showing in tray with the red cross and an error message cannot conect to
perferred network. KB has stated adapter maynot be WZC but it is as used on
another computer. Power management is also on which ...
