I am having trouble connecting to my router.  Both wireless and cable
connections are no longer working after a road trip.
The computer is a IBM T-30 laptop that worked fine while on the road over
christmas, but does not work at our home network upon return.

Currently, I am able to access a Win Vista machine and a Win 2K
machine from this WinXP machine on a peer-to-peer workgroup network.
However, when I attempt to access the WinXP machine from either of the
other two machines, I get a message: "\\STARWARS is not accessible.

I want to use the telnet service on a windows xp system, so that I can
log in start a process and exit. Unfortunately, the process does not
remain running after I disconnect the telnet session. This is easily
reproduced by connecting and entering the command:

So ive used the set up home netowrk thing on my pc an dlaptop but i still am
not able to share any files between my computers.  I am not able to see my
laptop when i go to workgroup computers, and on my laptop i was able to see
my pc but it sais that i did not have access to it.  ...

I cannot open some email attachments because I get a message saying that
I need to create a file association in the folder options control panel.
I have tried the 'help' pages but I'm totally confused.
Can someone tell me how to create such an association please?

I have 2 XP boxes, one XP enables Routing and RAS service and acting
like VPN server, it accepts VPN incoming connections and has IP pool
from 192.168.11.2 to 192.168.11.10, so the it will have 192.168.11.2
IP when VPN connection is established. Another XP acts like VPN

My set up is Desktop XP pro laptop 1 XP pro, laptops 2 & 3 Vista home
premium. Using Net Send from my desktop I can send a message to XP laptop
but not any of the Vista laptops. I get "A general network error occurred".
Check helpmsg 2136 only reiterates the previous error ...

up to a few hours ago I could right click on the internet connection Icon in
the networking folder(XP Pro)and select status.
There I could see the connection"speed".
Now when I do that the window(popup?) that shows the information about that

My laptop is part of a domain account. I wnt to run scheduled jobs - execute
a app daily at 4 am. i authenticated the job with my login account which is
part of the domain. so at 4 am, the job fails with error
