I cant connect to the internet. I go into the local area connection properties and click on the advanced tab, it says: Windows cannot display the properties of this connection. The Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) information might be corupted.

I have XP pro running a pc connected to the net through broadband which worked ok until recently. Two weeks ago I got infected with a viruses and spyware which took me a week to clear down. Then all of a sudden the network connection died on this pc.

I have just installed XP on my computer. I have set up the network, I can ping the router and www.yahoo.com. However, neother IE6 or Firefox can see the internet. Any ideas? Pfadt

Would an update of my anti virus cause my firewall to tell me it had detected a new network and assigned it to the internet zone? It also gave me the IP number which is not mine. Anna
