Due to my total stupidity it has taken me a while to figure out what was
happening here, but I eventually click.  I thought it was something to
do with the firewall being misconfigured, but it isn't really.

I just installed a new Vista machine onto a home network with two XP machines
running on them.  The vista machine sees all the shared folders on the XP
machines, and my XP laptop sees the shared folders and printer on the vista
machine.  But the XP desktop does not see the vista ...

I have an ongoing problems with two customers sites. Both are using XP Pro
and using Peer to Peer networking, they are also using "simple Files

I set both up on the same domain name and different static IP addresses. They
are able to say the LAN is connected, but I cannot exchange any data between
them.

Home SP2.  Each computer has user accounts named "Primary" and "Kids".  The
Primary accounts are administrator access and the Kids accounts are limited.
