I have an old VB5 program I need to use which outputs directly to
LPT1. My new computer does not have a parallel port, only USB. Is

I'm setting up a home network, so far with only 2 machines connected. I can
see the Win XP Pro machine from the Win 2000 machine, and see the drives and
share files from the Win XP Pro, but from the XP Pro machine, I can't see any

The first time I connect after start-up there is NO PROBLEM. But if I
dis-connect manually, then try to re-connect later, I get a message "all
devices connected", and must re-start my system. After a re-start, I can
connect ONCE ONLY, then the same problem occurs.

I can browse the web via firefox but not via IE.
I can ping the intranet but not the internet.

I get this error message when I "repair" the connection:
"windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following
action cannot be completed: registering with dns".

I have 4 computers all with XP Pro.
Got a new computer installed XP network was working great, after that
installed Office 07 and Adobe pro and the network was all gone no access
