I have a Microsoft MN 700 wireless router that has four computers and
a printer connected to it wirelessly.  All of the computers are using
MS windows XP SP2 and all are on the same workgroup.  Each can see
each other, share folders and files and each can connect to the

Hi, I have a freshly installed XP Pro SP2 (_not_Home_)  only allowing
4 connections to shared folders (as seen with "net session"). I've
been reading many MS KB articles about it and I understant XP _Pro_
should allow 10 connections. It is only XP + Apache & PHP. No

I have done the following:
- created a share "WINDOWS$" on folder "T:\WINDOWS"
- granted Read access to Everyone on that share
- executed the command "cacls T:\WINDOWS\Tasks /E /G Everyone:R"

Is there a command-line command to resolve the MAC address of a device to
it's hostname?  I'm getting a conflict that show's the MAC address of the
other machine, but when I try to trace it by physically tracing the cable
connected to the switch, I can't find where it goes.  ...

I have a users problem on a workgroup between XP and Vista.
I can share a folder in XP with Vista, but only through the "Everyone"

I have a linksys wireless router, wrt54g 4-port. Two computers connect
nicely using d-link wifi cards. The third (using a linksys nic) can't
connect. When I first boot the PC (windows xp sp2) it can detect but

We have a network with 13 computers on it.  Most are Windows 200 Pro SP4,
there are three running Win XP Pro SP2.
We have a file share on the XP Pro box, and for quite a while have been able

I am curious if anyone has encountered this issue.
Like many companys we have laptop users where we map their "My Documents"
folder back to a server share.  The "My Documents" folder is then made
available offline files.  I have a user that will create a file offline.

I set up a friends peer-to-peer network a few years ago. everything has been

This shouldn't be so difficult!  
I recently got a new desktop.  Rather than spend the hours re-installing
everything, I'd like to run from the new computer, but have access to
everything on the old one.
