On booting up the resolution starts at 800x600 where it is supposed to be but then drops to 640x480 after which a baloon appears saying resolution too low click on baloon to increase to 800x600. When you do the screen goes black

My ZoneAlarm tells me of frequent OUTgoing attempts by Messenger. All are blocked by ZA, BUT I thought I had deactivated Messenger (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > Messenger > Messenger Properties > Startup Type = Disabled; Service status = Stopped).

Til now I was downloading from my taperecorder holding the microphon near to the loudspeaker of the taperecorder. This kind of recording caused me of course unwanted noice too.

I've error message everytime when I turn on the PC "This application has failed to start because msin32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. So what is this mean and how to get rid off.
