I just purchased a laptop with Windows XP on it (am used to using 2000) and it won't allow me to load my original programs. Getting an error message stating "Not a win32 file" Any suggestions? I am logged as the administrator.

each time I select a restore point and I created 3 since installing windows xp all I get is a message telling me that I cannot restore to this point which is very annoying when you rely on this facility for system recovery.

I have a piece of unfortunately essential software that, under '98, required me to 'restart in MS-DOS mode' and wouldn't operate as a DOS window in the windows environment. Is there any comparable way to do that with Windows XP??

Whe I defrag my main drive, it still looks extremely fragmented, no matter how many times I defrag it. It appears my "My Documents" and PST files are not being defragemented. Steve
