I have a Xircom combined LAN and Modem in my laptop but everytime I tried to create a new Internet connection XP only allows me to select the DSL connection rather than the Dial-up connection. The dial-up connection is greyed out.

When I search for a file extension that returns lots of files, the search stops responding. I have tried "sfc /scannow" but that hasn't solved the problem. I'm tearing my hair out! Anybody got any other ideas? --
