 I have two files on my desktop which I want to delete but each time I try
I get the message "these files are being used by another program or person
and cannot be deleted". I know this is not true but cannot delete them, any
ideas ?

Downloading spyware caused crash of winsock file.
Can send and receive e-mail but no access to internet.
Provider states it is microsoft problem.
How do you resolve problem?

I just did a cntl+alt+del and was surprised to find that I had 35 programs
running in the background.  I have to assume that this is slowing things
down.
What do I really need to have running?

I have had my new pc for  about 6 months and I got aol  when I frist got it .and it was all right? but I wanted DSL so went with bellsouth .net and got more ram so I could run it . and it chash and I ran a restore it took it back to ?like it was new? but I cant get my old things ...

i just got a new pc with windows xp.  had millinium
previously.  i play spades, euchre etc at yahoo.  with
the new pc...the applet won't load by itself.  i wait the
alotted 3 min. plus and still have to do the "click here"

when i set up a new limited user, xp does not allow the
limited user use of any program that may require a
download to operate.  i do not want to grant admin status
to these users, but the programs are an important asset

I have a small DOS based program that was written for me
by a local programmer. It makes use of a Microsoft file
called emm386.exe. I used Windows 98 2nd edition and this
worked well.

Am Running windows XP Home. Have altered user accounts so
that I can open in "limited Account".
When I Try to revert to Administrator, I renamed it "admin" using
START - etc. There is no "Log off Windows" option.

Can not get on yahoo to retrieve mail.  Can get on the

When I click an attachment in mail on Outlook Express, I get an option to
"Save To" certain folders, such as "My Documents".  I usually save to a
different folder.  I have to browse to it each time.
Is there any way to make the "Save To" window offer me my chosen folder

I have a motherboard with onboard sound. I had to reinstall Windows XP because of lockup problems and now I have no sound. The system says I have no sound device installed. Can someone please help? Thanks.

I installed Windows XP Home Edition on my off-line backup
computer.  When I go to boot up the computer, Windowsw XP
comes up with a message that says I have to activate my
program before I can log on.  Of course, I can't access
