How to close Ctrl+Alt+Delete window?16 Dec 2003 21:52 GMT7
I have a Task Manager window that I cannot close down.
Running Windows XP Pro (not networked).
Pressed Ctrl+Alt+Del. Expected to see the Windows Task Manager screen.
Instead, I get the middle  three-quarters of the expected screen. I get

The XP on my PC has corrupted and crashed the system, so I
am trying to clean install XP to a new HDD which will be
master in my system. I am using a Maxtor 60G HDD and have
512 megs DDR-RAM and the system is designed for XP, butit

When saving pictures on the internet using Internet
Explorer my computer was saving them as .jpg files , now
it is using .bpm and I do not know how to change it

I have two hard drives both using the same OS WinXP.  They are both
partitioned by Partition Magic 7.0.  I am attempting to change the partition
on the second hard drive.  I cannot because it is set "read only".  How do I
remove the read only restriction?

I'm having problems with shut down. It takes about 25 to 30
minutes before the "It is now safe to shut off your
computer" comes up. It should only take about a 30 to 60
seconds, correct?

manager, but the error messages still keep coming up.  I

I formatted the old machine with a ME bootdisk, and tried to run setup from
the XP cd, it wouldn't work with a 'wrong dos version' message.

When I try to upgrade to XP from Win98, it locks up under
the "analyzing system" and a time left of 77 minutes.  I
tried the compatability test and when it gets to
the "scanning system programs" it locks up when it gets to
