Sometimes when I startup my my Gateway Notebook running XP
I get a InCD not found message and then I have no internet
access.  I reboot and it is ok.  Anyone have any ideas?

I backed up my hard drive on an external hard drive in
Win98, is there anyway to retrieve those files in WinXP?

Just installed XP. When I copy my old data files to the new system, it changes the dates to today.
This is bad.
How can I get it to keep the old file dates and time?

When doing a normal shut-down, I get a warning" END
PROGRAM NOT RESPONDING" and imediatelly I get a screen
saying "TFSWCTRL.EXE" not responding click "END NOW" the
I get another screen saying "EXPLORER.EXE" not

I have the same problem although I can see mine in My Computer and Device Manager which tells me it's fine and all drivers are up to date.  I can't access it without the system hanging. Is yours on the Windows Compatibility list.  Mine is.  I even redownloaded new drivers.

I use the standard 'Write these files' on the File menu to put files on a CD-RW.  I use this as a back-up technique.  It writes all files as read only.  Therefore I can't copy, move or otherwise get them back.  I have also tried the 'attrib' DOS command to change the 'read only' ...
