AOl tells me that "Windows XP hotfix SP2 Q811493" one of th many "UPDATES" is preventing me from getting on to broadband and I should contact vendor (Dell) to remove it.Dell says its microsoft's problem and microsoft says its Dell. Can anyone help, please?

In case no one noticed. There is no "compatibility mode" for XP in the program you all keep recommending we download and use. It cannot be updated as it locks up over and over again. Is there a fix for this we're all just supposed to know about? :(
