I have enabled the 'save password' feature, but on occasion in the past, I
have entered a wrong one! (Stupid!)
Now, when I enter th efirst letter of my password, it throws up a list of
wrong words and the correct one that I have to scroll down to enter.

How does one check to see if the firewall is on or off. I have XP, OE,IE6,
Norton Antivirus 2004. I just downloaded the Microsoft  Security Firewall.
But that checks only Incoming Mail, doesn't it?

When I went into check to make sure my firewall was on (I have AOL) nothing came on the screen.  I also have earthlink and netzero, when I right click on them they come up perfectly fine.  Is it aol that causes some kind of problem?

I have win98se on a machine and we have just bought a full copy of XP Pro.
What is the way I upgrade so I don't lose my shortcuts etc.

On some pages while surfing the internet, I get the following warnings, sometimes 2 or 3 on a page "Scripts are usually safe. Do you want to allow scripts to run?"  How can I turn this message off?

Ok guys,.... I'm exhausted with this PC but searched out the info that
when a blank CD is put in the CD drive a window is supposed to open up -
and you can use that WXP software to burn your backup files.  NO WINDOW

The tech told me to run scan disk and do a defrag before burning all my
files to CDs - or I'll lose them.  But there is *no* MY COMPUTER on the
Start menu.  He said Start/My Comp/C: /Tools/Ck now.    My menu looks like
W98 and I don't see any info on changing it to a XP menu to find ...

Is software made for Windows 2000 and up also compatible with Windows XP Home edition?  Or does it have to be listed for XP to be compatible?  Can it hurt my computer if I download incompatible software?

I installed all my software under the Admin account. Then
I created a 2nd limited account but when I log on under
the limited account name none of the new software or
anything is there. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? How
