Ok I'm new to computers, Microsoft support say its not
their problem to deal with so I'm stuck. If anyone can

I have just started doing a "data and system state"
backup to an extra hard disk on my computer.  I have
named the first backup as a code number for the
day/date/year of the back up and have the schedule set to

Is it possible to identify what type of XP  installation CD a product key is
for? For example, can you tell if a key is for a OEM CD instead of a Retail
CD just by looking at the numbers/letters.

I have just brought a new computer with windows xp and
there is 5 user all of which are administrators, the
problem is that when ever I try and install a game it
installs fine but it goes on to everyones accounts. I was

How do I save what i want to go back to? When I open a new browser and put it on my tool bar to go to something else but save what I just looked at, it closes it out and takes over what I was trying to save. Did I explain this right?? I am not to sure about what I am doing here. ...

I just did a clean install of XP Pro and I really like it.  I never thought
there would be a reason to move from WIN98.
I had created a dos batch file using xcopy32.exe that copied lots of
directories from my server to my workstation and it took about 1 minute.

My Dial up networking password keeps getting reset by Internet Explorer.
I put in the correct one and then tell it to save it. then i go into
Internet Explorer and change it on the tab there but the next time i
boot up it is back to the wrong. how do i fix this?

I'm just a little curious: Is it possible to use a shell other than explorer.exe in Windows XP?  Like how I used Program Manager (progman.exe) when I had windows 98.  There's no longer a shell entry in system.ini.
