Startup is OK...slow...but OK. But it won't shut down. Goes to last words, "Windows is shutting down" but just sits there. What have I done, or not done?

What does this message mean? cannot find 'file///C:/bns/new/B_505900.htm'. Make sure the path or Internet Address is correct. When i click Ok INTERNET EXPLORER opens.

I purchaced a compaq with a version of windows me on it 2 years ago and want to upgrade to xp home. but i have bought a upgrade motherbord and all the drivers for the compaq motherboard are on the cd and are no longer needed.

I am trying to restore the default fonts ,styles and sizes. For some reason everything went small italic even though the settings in OE6 read, compose, etc are different. Almost all my text is italic, the rest is small bold. Is there a way to restore everything back to the way ...

I installed XP Upgrade from 98 SE. I had a bunch of files in a folder on my desktop in 98 SE. After installing XP, those files are gone 'cept the folders are still there. Is this some sick joke or am I going to have to cry miserably forever because 5 years of what I have been ...

Am I understanding this correctly, that backup is automatic upon normal shutdown. And, to restore, simply F8 upon reboot and choose "last known good configuration"?? Do I get a choice of dates, etc? Thanks, Bonnie

Using XP Home. I bought and installed AVG 7 Pro. I cannot for the life of me get the email scanning set up. I've gone to the help section, and printed off the instructions, but I cannot get it. Can anyone here walk me through it? I appreciate any and all help.

I'm working overseas off of an xp-pro platform which I've "ghosted" on the D drive. Forgetful me forgot to bring my os cd with me and when trying to run variants of SFC the system asks for the disks. How, if at all, can I use the ghost in place of the cd's for the time being.
