I have windows XP.  when my computer starts it gets
through the BIOS, but never gets to windows.  F8 will not
get me to BIOS setup.  it then has a black screen that
says "Pri. Master Disk HDD S.M.A.R.T. capability....NONE.  

After installing a spyware detector, it keeps warning me that "WILDTangent has been detected working in memory". As WILDTangent also appears on my Control Panel, is it safe to remove or will it affect the running of any other programs?

Can someone tell me what IEEE802 and XP Hotfix programmes are and can I delete them without harming my computer?

I am using Grisoft's AVG v 7.0225
Although I have the E-mail scanner fully functional a ballon popped up in
the system tray warning me that the e-mail scanner was not fully functional
but didn't say anything helpful.

Is it possible to delete desktop icons in my kids' user
accounts without deleting them from my user account
also?  I want them to have access to some but not all
programs.

Please HELP i am the only user on my computer now and when i try to activate internet security it tells me only an ADMINISTRATOR  can do this !!   How do i set myself up as THE administrator?
