After I download Critical Windows Updates, I try to open
XP downloads but then it just reopens the same dialog
box, showing all the categories (with "18" by XP so I
know there are downloads I could get, with a dialog

A year-old Dell computer was re-formatted yesterday and WinXP pro was
re-installed.

I believe a user account file was inadvertantly shreaded
when ousting some data miner files.
When I goto Start>Control panel>USer Accounts

My brother has just had a new laptop Packard Bell he says he keeps getting a

Ok experts here it goes. When I want to burn a file or
folder on a cd I put a blank cd in(we will call it CD#1)
and the go to the folder hit save as then goto my
computer, c drive , then to the cd drive or burner. It

Just upgraded W98 to XP.  System now randomly shuts down

Having locked the task bar, I now find that the check mark is grayed out, if
that's the right phrase. In any even, it's inaccessible. What can I do to
access that setting?
