Hi. Under my Windows folder I noticed several folders in a different
fore color and named $ntuninstall.....
Can I remove these safely?

Hi, when I switched on this evening, I have lost my windows sounds.  I can
play a cd no problem at all, I've checked my sound settings, I've run dxdiag
and it all says there is no problems found.
Any ideas?  any help would be appreciated.  Thanks. Susie

HI i tryed to instal a router on my pc and it dident display the network options and the teck person told me i needed to re instal xp so i tryed and it wont finish its just stoped a the part were i needs 33 minuts to finish can any one help me ?

Why would I get this message in safe mode in XP Home when starting my
Symantec anti-virus?  This is part of a continuing problem I am having
trying to get XP Home up and running again.  It starts up fine but
quickly freezes when I touch the mouse or keyboard >:-(

I recently installed the windowsxp recovery console on my HDD using
the /cmdcons option. After I rebooted my system I had two menu options
w/ a 30 second timer. However, on my subsequent reboots I only get the
two menu options and not a counter and therefore no default OS is

I have 4 drives. My primary HD (jumpered as SlavePresent)
with the systemFiles on it     And the Slave for game and
docs.    My Cdrom on secondary IDE with CDRW (set to

On my sons PC (Athlon 2800) he keps getting the blue screen of death. This
happens when he is running unreal, word and other programmes. Is there a
common reason for this e.g. memory errors?

My XP Home freezes up as soon as I move the mouse, but it works fine
in safe mode.  I have defragged, virus scanned, and used Ad-Aware.
What else could it be?

A brand new Dell 2400 computer came with windows xp home edition. I have a
windows xp professional cd. How do I go about migrating from home to
professional? Do I simply insert the Cd and attempt to install professional
on top of home? thank you
