I have installed Win Xp Home Ed. on my computer. It is
running very well. It took me 3 days to install everything
the way I like it. I would like to know if it is possible
to make a bootable working backup of everything installed

I was searching text files (extension LSP) for content that I know exists
and can find with Windows98, but Windows XP was unable to search the text
files for the content I specified.  This is a tool that I depend on.  Why am
I unable to find specified content of text files?  Windows ...

Could someone please recommend an external backup device? I am thinking on
the lines of a dvd writer perhaps from sony or hp. What software can I use
for backup?

Thanks for your input to my earlier posting.  I already have McAfee firewall
and McAfee virus protection and installed Spybot as well.  I thought my
computer was protected by these.  No?

I have a program that works only on windows 98. Is it possible that I
configure xp to report win 98 as it's version to old  programs?

Hi.  I have Win XP on a pentium 4.  Has been running for
many moons.  Last night it froze.  Pressing the reset key
made it beep but did nothing else.  I then switched it
off at the wall socket (power supply).

What is wrong with my system when I shut it down and
