I have an older UMAX Vistascan 1220U USB Scanner that ran fine on Win98 but
I upgraded to WinXP Pro on a new machine.
I purchased the WinXP update from UMAX for the 1220U and installed the
software / driver.

Hi, my pc used to be able to dual boot Win 98SE and Win XP. Yesterday
something went wrong and the computer just shows a blinking cursor. So I

I recently bought a Dell 5150 notebook that came with Widows XP Home
Edition. This is my first experience with XP - my desktop still uses
98 - so I'm something of a novice with it.
Anyway, after playing around with it for a couple weeks I've noticed

I try to set my windows file explorer to show "details", but often when I
open a folder, I either get thumbnails or icons.  I have tried to use the
VIEW > APPLY TO ALL FOLDERS option, but it does not seem to hold out.
Is there any other setting I can change to make this happen?
