Since having  XP installed, the computer won't shut all the way down. it sits on the "Shutting Down Windows" screen until I push the re-boot button, then the power button twice!!!! I'm sure this isn't supposed to happen. I didn't have this problem with Windows 98.  Help!!!!!!!! ...

I recently installed a new hard drive, installed all software and all
systems are working properly.
I installed the old HD for additional storage and want to format it before

I was running Windows 98.  I loaded XP, and it was
supposed to overide Windows 98.  XP runs well, but when I
startup the computer Windows 98 shows up and then it goes

I must have line numbers in my transcript.  Everything
has always printed fine but all of a suddent the line
