I am very new to windows XP. I have to create 1000 folder
under window xp with exact name as follow:
c:/000-TN-0001
c:/000-TN-0002

Getting at error on bootup. MSSvc.exe. The instruction at "0x001450a8" referenced memory at "0x00000001". The memory could not be read. It is followed by MSSvc.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  Any ideas out there?

I tried to run Defrag and it is telling me it is not installed. Has anyone else run across this problem with XP Home? How do I install it?

I get the error-Windows cannot open volume for direct
access when I run scandisk.It works on the other

The following file opens at startup:
c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Microsoft\Protect\S-1-5-18
I cannot stop it from opening and it is driving me crazy!!!

I am using Windows XP (Home) and cannot get into Windows update.
I get into the page and after scanning I get the error message

first time in discussion group and not an advid internet
searching when it comes to finding exactly what i'm
searching for.  problem: pc is approx 1 yr old, upon bootup
i get a msg: 'status code 1073741819 lsass.exe terminated'

Every time I try to run my Britannica 2002 Expanded Edition DVD under
Windows XP Home, I get an error message saying:  "Unable to start the
application--The Java Virtual Machine can not be loaded.  Class not
registered."  I have loaded the Sun Java but I still get the error

when upgrading windows xp over windows 98 I get the message
file 1$win_nt$.~bthalacpi.dll  error code 7 on re-boot
I then get option to re start in windows 98
Any ideas????

I think I have duplicate files on my computer.
What is the safest program I can use to identify these
files.

Actually I am using XP firewall plus free ZA AND Norton Personal
Firewall and do not have any problems--at least none that I can
detect!

Anybody say why my xp home is so slow to shut down. When i select shut down
i can wait 1min  30 secs for machine to go off!!! 2.6 ghz and 256m ram

I have Ad Aware which picks this up, Spybot, Norton, Windows XP, all current
with updates.  I delete this & it keeps coming back.  How do I get rid of
this pest?

All my windows are turning white and have 'about blank' written across the top. I can get the start menu up but that is about all at the moment, most things disappear to leave a white space within 10 seconds. Can anyone help me sort it out in very simple terms, thanks

Is there any way that I can set WinExplorer to open whichever folder I
choose and display the contents in a Detailed List? So far it seems I
need to do it manually everytime I open a new folder or a CD.
