I can't put a dvd file on my hard drive because of a 4

O.K. It`s called chkdsk & it does not from startup.It
does not run from my computer.It does not run from
command prompt.chkntfs indicates "c" is dirty.I have

helping a friend with a gateway P4 running Win XP and IE 6.  recently
whenever he tries to download an application file it is saved as an IE
shortcut and can't be opened.  Seems to be a hidden .URL at the end of
file name.   I tried downloading the same files from the same sites

Hey all, for some reason i turned my computer on the

I recently reinstalled my Norton Internet Security 2004

the password i've been using for a particular user is no longer valid and I can't seem to be able to access this account even from admin.  Much of my software was downloaded while signed on in this account.  How can I get back in?

Using WinXhomw and IE6.  Recently, I am getting a lot of "This Program is
Not Responding" pop-ups when I click on links on some of my favorite
websites.  I have to close the pop-up and then all my windows close.  Does
anyone smarter than me have a fix for this?  Thanks in advance, ...

Please can someone advise me on where to find an illustrated index of common programme icons and there properties.Ive spent ages searching but no luck.
I  am a bit nervous to just click away at them,the ones im searching for are those icons found in the programme files.Thanks
