we had windows 98 and then installed the W-XP upgrade on a brand new disc on the same PC. The idea was to have programs and operating system files on C drive and data files on E drive (D is the CD-ROM).

Currently use Win98 but will be migrating to XP later this week. I am aware that my CD-R/W discs formatted in 98 and used for backing up files are not recognizable by XP. I use Adaptec and either drag&drop or BackUp My PC to back up files currently in my 98 pc. What can I do to ...

This is a duplicate of an item I placed in the General Newsgroup. I'm not sure where I should have posted it so I'm repeating it here. When I used the WIndowsME version of Wordpad I was able to insert clip art into wordpad documents. I am now using the XP version of Wordpad

I wonder if anyone could explain as to why the Windows Image and Fax Viewer will only open up certain images I've taken and saved (all in JPEG format) and not others. I can open them up from my CompactFlash card and the images

I cannot access the Recovery Console. When i start WinXP Pro from the installation CD-ROM it directly gose to the "Windows Setup" blue screen and shows loading files at the bottom. I don't have any option for launch the Recovery Console. How could i make it work? Thank you!!

The only thing I have running is my firewall (and I had that on W98) but my HD seems to do a lot of 'work' for no apparent reason. Is it one of the 'services' that MS automatically put on that's causing it? Thanks

Everytime I move the mouse over a .jpg or word or excel document, the little "bubble of information" about the document pops up and irritates the heck out of me. Can someone tell me how to turn this feature off?

The limited accounts I have setup cannot access the internet at all or use outlook thru my ISP (Cable DSL with modem). When I change the account rights to admin. then they can.... How do I fix this?
