Hi all: Had to change my mobo, so I did new install of xp home, and now I can't see my d drive. If I go to the hardware mgr it see's it but when you go to my computer it's not listed. Is there anyway to get xp to access the harddrive? Or do I have to loose all the data I have on ...

can anyone help as i am very much inexperienced and new to windows. what i would like to know is . can i delete all the temporary internet files on my system as they are taking up so much space on the hard drive and if i do this will there be any problems afterwards.

On windows xp I was told that if you right clicked on the c drive icon and pick properties I could find a "create back-up" area. I don't have one there and can't seem to find any anywhere. How can I create a back-up disk using XP home edition? Thanks to anyone who can help!

Did it, and it work great! The back up folder is now where I was asked to look for it. I am on my way to buy blank discs and am looking forward to making use of this new tool. A good lesson learned thanks to you all.

I don't know if this is the right place or not but here goes. I have a problem in that my CD drive disappears from Explore at the end of a day if it has not been used often during the day. The only way to get it back is to restart the Computer.
