Is there an easy way of renaming a batch of files on XP? Transferring large
quantities from digital camera and it's a pain renaming each one!

When I put a CD in which has just jpgs on it I don't get the option to view
as a slideshow, like I do when I open up a folder with jpgs in.  Should I be
getting this option?  My friend says that when she inserts a CD with jpgs
she gets the option.    It does give me options ...

Every time i connect/login to the internet, couple of .tmp
files (names starting with 'f' like fa707f5f_{F93287FC-
65EE-4612-8852-C5AAE0AC9E0D}.tmp) of 0kb size are
autogenerated in the "C:\WINDOWS" folder..

My new Dell 2400 was working fine until I updated the OS
with Service Pack 1.  In the middle of the installation,
the computer restarted and now the mouse is not

My volume control icon has disappeared from the system tray.    It has
popped up in the Start section, but I dont know how to get it back down on

I am new to Windows XP.  I am able to set the PC into standby mode.  When I am ready to restart everything is frozen (mouse will not move position)  any idea's ???
