Is there an easy way of renaming a batch of files on XP? Transferring large
quantities from digital camera and it's a pain renaming each one!

When I put a CD in which has just jpgs on it I don't get the option to view
as a slideshow, like I do when I open up a folder with jpgs in.  Should I be
getting this option?  My friend says that when she inserts a CD with jpgs
she gets the option.    It does give me options ...

Every time i connect/login to the internet, couple of .tmp
files (names starting with 'f' like fa707f5f_{F93287FC-
65EE-4612-8852-C5AAE0AC9E0D}.tmp) of 0kb size are
autogenerated in the "C:\WINDOWS" folder..

Talking about indexing of drives, I know this is available

My new Dell 2400 was working fine until I updated the OS
with Service Pack 1.  In the middle of the installation,
the computer restarted and now the mouse is not
recogonized.  I contacted Dell, who sent out a new mouse

Bought Dell Dimension 8300 in Jan. 04, since Feb. Blue
Screen comes up about 8 times so far, freezes
everything.  Dell Techs say:  it's corrupt, have to
reinstall windows, back up data, maybe it's spyware,

how can i install a program so that it only goes into my
profile, & how can i remove programs from one profile
without it cmpletly uninstalling completely from all
profiles.

I recently formatted and installed Win XP pro.
When trying to install Lotus Notes client r5.x, I am

My volume control icon has disappeared from the system tray.    It has
popped up in the Start section, but I dont know how to get it back down on
the system tray.

It's a one user setup. but it seems to have 8 separate identical sections.
ie:

XP set up user folders under Doc&Setting\username.  When
user logged in under Domain, New userfolder setup as
\username.000. Can I merge accounts, or delete them?
