Upgradinig from Win98 to XP27 Aug 2004 20:14 GMT1
I just got a copy of Windows XP Pro and noticed it's for upgrading win 95 or
earlier versions.  I have Win98 second edition.  Before I open the box... is
it going to work?  Or do I need a specific win 98 upgrade?

Installed SP2 onto XP Pro. Re-boot came up looking a bit strange: big image,
no blue scrolling lights. Desktop was in 4 colors, low resolution.
Re-booted. Start-up looked normal, but desktop was still crude. Went to
Control Panel Display Settings. Tried to reset screen resolution ...

A friend has Windows XP Home and Outlook Express 6.
Each time she opens up her computer and after the desktop is displayed
the computer automatically dials up her ISP - Virgin.net.  This means
that she cannot use her computer without going on line.

which uses MSCDEX to access the CD ROM drive, to work properly under

My antivirus software tells me I have a winshow virus as well as a javabyte
virus which I cannot repair. This changes my homepage and floods me with

I have windows XP (home edition) I want the modem to disconnect  when on
line after a specified number of minutes of inactivity.
Control Panel>phone and modem options>modems tab>click modem.then
properties>click advance tab>then change default references.

responding. I went to printers and fax and found Capture Fax BVRP paused how
do I make it ready. I also went to set up faxing and found the file
FXSCFGWZ.DLL on windows XP home edition cd rom is needed. ...
