I have tried to figure this out from other posts but
can't seem to find the same problem. My computer closes
windows very slow,but also in sections,if you know what I
mean. A window may take six sections out one at a time

Hello.  Can anyone assist.  I have a home PC runiing Win
XP Home.  All is fine until I try to log-off.  I go
through 'start', 'log-off' - and normally it will go
through it's shut down procedure and the whole process

I registered my new computer with my boss' name. In fact only I use this
computer and only I log on to the Windows (also only I have opened an
account), but the problem is when I modify document in Word, the comment is
shown with my boss' name but not with mine. I think it's kind ...

some (not all) shortcut icons now won't work.  It says I am not allowed.  
this is in Admin.  However the icons (all) in a secondary user work.
I tried creating new shortcuts -- the icons appear but when I click on them
it says I am not permitted.

Today I have lost all sound on the system. No greetings

I have a question about the internet. I have to keep typing my home page in
because it keeps coming up "about:blank" I don't know how to keep it from
coming up. I went online and someone said to download Spybot S&D. I did that,
and it's still there. Any suggestions?

I can't open any .exe files other
than explorer, all of my icons in the program list and
desktop have an iexplorer icon. It seems that my file
types are messed up. I also get the message "Windows

I installed the service pack windows xp2 on Monday. Now
that I have done this, every time I get an email from
someone or send someone a message with a picture of
something, they can't see the picture and neither can I.

Just finished speaking with the HP-Compac man and learned
that the the CD-RW drive that came with my Presario
desktop is designed to use CD-RW+ blank disks which cost
about $5 each.

   SP2 will not install on my computer yet .

    The DEP module in the Windows XP2 update causes the installation of XP2
to reboot the computer after the Windows screen comes up with the blue
loading bar .

I have a new Dell with WindowsXP Home Edition.  Can I
install the software programs from my Windows 98 CD?  
Just the Powerpoint, Excel, and Word?  I tried once and
it asked me to go to dos setup.  I do not know how to do
