I have had a real problem today with a self build PC that has been runnign
fine for a month or so. It loads up to sometimes the windows select user
screen, sometimes the screen past that, sometimes not even that far before
it restarts.

Hi - I know that a lot of people recommend a clean start (or at least a
clean XP install), but a lot of other people say that they've had good
results with an upgrade from well-behaved systems.   (of which one of
mine qualifies).

When I type in www.usatoday.com in IE 6, it always goes to:

I visited months ago.  Tools/Internet Options/Clear History doesn't
clear it and neither does the registry hack:  HKEY_CURRENT__

Whenever i click " turn off computer" and once i click  restart/shutdown, it
will stay on " windows is shutting down" blue screen for about 2~3 minutes
before it shuts down or restart.  Can somebody help me solve this issue?

How can I update moviemaker to version 2 without installing SP2?  I am still
very suspicious of all the problems being associated with SP2.
I can download SP2 as an exe file OK , but how can I then extract moviemaker

Thanks, but I neglected to say I had already done that.  The files I'
copying don't say "Read Only" and I am using CDRW blank Cd's that
formatted on the InCd first.

Whenever I try to restart/shut down my computer it takes up to 2 minutes to
shut down/restart.  On the "turn off computer" screen it'll stay there for 2
minutes and then it will shut down/restart.  Can anyone help me with this
