I use to see the icon for the last 2 days showing what
percent it was up to for downloading sp2. Today I don't
see the icon and I know that the down load can't be
complete yet (dial up is very slooooow). How do I know if

I have a new Dell with a CD-RW drive(D), a combo CD-RW/DVD-RW (E), and a 3.5

given the A and D drives to select from. no E as either CD or DVD.

I AM UPGRADING TO A NEW PC, MY OLD ONE HAD WINDOWS 98 AND
OFFICE 97.
NEW ONE HAS WINDOWS XP HOME EDIITON AND WORKS 7.0.
HOWEVER, I WOULD LIKE TO USE MY OFFICE 97 IF POSSIBLE.

when i install a new program, such as palm desktop 4.01, when i restart,
windows goes to a blue screen and restarts. I am not able to see the error as

What to do...sometime in August /04 I did one of the XP critical updates
from the Update page that MS suggested, I thought it installed ok at the
time, but I just checked my update history on the MS update page and it
said XP B839645 failed.

I have, I think, DSL with the cable company.  I told them when they wired the
room that I needed the cable to reach to the other side of the room.  As the
guy was somewhat of a X#$%^^XCVFFA he told me that "I cannot run the cable
any further than what you have your current setup" ...

I installed SP2, and now several programs which worked
before get the 16 bit windows subsystem error.
Any patches that exist to fix that?

I upgraded a neighbor's system for them (W98->XP) and the XP IE didn't retain
their favorites.  Anyway to find or import them from the old W98 folder still
on the hard drive?
