Hi there, I am not exactly a computer whizz, so I need some help.  I bought a
CD rom recently, which vital to my PhD research, but which was issued in 1994
and can't get it to run on my computer with XP.  The message I get is
'StartWIn - CreateWindow failure'.  Can anyone help me ...

I am a new user and not at all computer literate.  I have
only recently set up my e-mail using Outlook Express.  
Unfortunately, I tried to send an e-mail using the wrong
e-mail address and now I constantly get an error log

is it normal for msconfig to show the same file twice to be loaded at
startup?? I have about 6 programs that appear twice in the startup tab.
Is this necessary?? The location is different (HKLM and HKCU) Could this
be causing my constant CPU load problems??

I'm using a AMD Atthlon xp 2000 1.66ghz. wondering if it wound be benifical
to upgrade to a better on. i'm happy with the one i have just want better. i
have 768 of ram,play alot of games, what kind? why that kind? don't bother?

I recently moved. I've had my computer in storage for a while.  Almost as
soon as I connected to the Internet, I got the Sasser worm.  I cleaned it

I did a yahoo search for adhd learning disabilities and
when I clicked a result I got a porn site that froze my
mouse so I couldn't get go back or x it out for a while.
the search result looked legit like the previous adhd

On the 'Start' menu, under 'All Programs', I have a long list of programs
that I would like to simplify by sorting into groups or folders. Where is
the 'All Programs' folder, and can I create subfolders within it?

I am a new XP user and have just installed XP" sevice pack
from disc provided by microsoft. From bootup the screen
goes straight to request Safemode or select return last
known configuration. Trying this just brings me to windows

    SP2 failed to install because the DEP module in XP2 is the problem
according to a Microsoft Support reply .
    I have the options to uninstall the Mpegport.sys driver or turn off the
DEP "thing" .

On some newsgroups like this one, the msgs/posts are stored for quite a long
time. In Tools/options/maintenance I have it set to 30 days, and it seems to
be fine in this NG. But on some NGs it is only for less than a week, even 2
days on some. How can I get all to be for 30 days?
