Hi - I've been digging all over the web to get a good backup solution for my planned migration from 98SE to XP and I think this is a viable backup strategy- does this work? environment: NTFS, XP Home.

When I start windows xp home edition everything loads correct until I get to the welcome screen. The user name icons don't show up anymore so I can't get to my desktop. Everything else on the welcome screen shows up

Can anyone help. I use computer for digital photographs. Until recently I used to write the photos from my pictures using file and folder tasks directing to the CD or by right clicking oon the folder. the CD wizard used to appear.

There are some icons in the Systems Tray that are of not much use, but am unable to remove them. I do not see them in Startup. There are two such Icons : 1. "Local area connection - a network cable is unplugged."

Everytime I put a data cd (jpegs) in, XP autoloads all the pictures. A box comes up saying autoplay and it seems to load every picture. Can this be stopped. Also I notice that I can now eject the CD and sometimes dirctcd box
