Recently upgraded my home PC to XP Pro from 2K Pro. Does XP have the same personalised programs menu system as in 2K? I realise it has the (useful) frequently used programs directly on the start menu but it doesn't appear to be personalising the All Programs menus.

For the life of me I cannot figureout how to permanently delete items from the taskbar at the very bottom right corner of the screen. I believe it is application taskbar. Sorry if I am so dumb..

My computer keeps restarting. I am running XP Pro. It happens at all different times. I've checked the power options, internet options etc. but cannot find any reason why it is doing this. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks. ...

How do I cancel the alert balloon that keeps opening in the system tray, telling me 'the firewall status is unknown' when it knows perfectly well that I have norton firewall installed having checked the box for alternative firewall in the security console?

Somewhere I managed to generate a 9 page report with the title "System Resource Report". It lists the irq, port usage, system device info, and more. I have no idea what I did to generate this report. I would like to do it again, but dont know how. Anyone know how to do this ? ...

My computer is completely hosed. I want to reinstall Windows XP operating system. How do I do that? I don't have XP on a disk, but I believe there's a backup copy stored on the HD, isn't there? Any help would be great. Thanks!

work gave me a windows xp cdrom to load on to my laptop. it came in a sealed envelope, with a specific barcode. however, when i try and install it i'm asked for a product key - which isn't the barcode number. what can i do?
