Recently installed XP Professional and am aware at thos moment of the
following problems.
* when scrolling, instead of a fluid movement, the oage scrolls in an
animated step movement which is disconcerting.

When running a program integrity program, I get the following problem
message.  "C:\Program
files\Professional\Runtime\0701\Intel32\DotNetInstaller.exe cannot access
file mscoree.dll.  What does this mean and what can I do to correct?

If I right-click Start and select Explore I get the tree and "Star
Menu" is listed above.  If I go to C\Windows\Internet Logs onl
"Intenet Logs" shows up on top.  How can I configure it to show th
full path?  This is with Windows XP Home.

On shutdown, screen usually with 'Saving your settings'
text, now shows 'Installing 1 of 3 updates'.
Then this message replaced (same background),
'Do not switch off, or unplug your computer.

Zone Alarm FW is blocking Generic Host Process for Win32 Services on my XP
Home machine.  What are these services?  If they are benign, how do I get ZA
to allow these services to enter my machine?

I upgraded from xp home to professional and can't get the sound and video
working right again. I've checked the drivers and they are all up to date.
Everthing worked great before the upgrade.

I recently updated a Windows Me machine to XP and of course it inherited the
Windows Me programs and FAT32 disk structure.  After a few issues I was able
to get the programs and devices working correctly.
Once the system was stable I then converted the disk to NTFS.

I have just put a new computer onto a TFT monitor that I have had for a
while.  The text does not appear properly - it appears bitty.  I have looked
around the display settings etc. but, as a new user, cannot find what I can
do?  Is it a compability problem with a new computer?

Hi - i have 2 partitions, C and D.  the Services console dfrg.msc says
C: is ok, D: needs defrag
However, when I run defrag.exe (no arguments except the drive letter) -
it defrags both - this appears to be the same as defrag.exe /f.
