Hi - Apparently I can't run chdsk /f except scheduling it for boot. So how do I use this to keep my (1-partition) system clean? Seems like I have to INTERACTIVELY run chkdsk, see if there are problems, and if there are, schedule a /f run for next boot.

My user account type is computer administrator, but when I try to install an AIM upgrade or download and play a game, it tells me I need to have administrator privledges and will not let me do it. I have no idea what is going on.

While attempting to install xp on a new hard drive, my power supply died. Now when I try to finish the install, it starts to boot then verifies the DMI pool, then says error loading operation system & won't let me go any further. Any ideas on how to finish the install?

I made an ms-dos start-up disk and the file system says "FAT" bu when I right-click my C drive in My Computer it says NTFS. Is thi normal? Will this start up disk work if I need it? Thank you.
