Yea, i am not a nerd so this is frustrating......I buy
the upgrade and $100 later and I have no longer got
Norton Anti Virus, or my ad blocker Pest Patrol ($40)or
whatever else I do not know.

i just got windows XP professional and when im looking stuff up and i bring
up more that 5 web pages they all get put into the one web page thing and i
have to open the list to select which web page i want...is there a way to
turn this off so it is like it is on windows 98?
Cannot erase a CD-RW  (files recorded as read only)07 Oct 2004 10:55 GMT1
I am using Nero Express to record jpg's onto a Memorex CD-RW that has
"1X-4X speed" indicated on the CD. The jpg's get recorded as "read
only" so I cannot move them around on the cd noe can I erase them.
Any suggestions??????

Using Windows XP Home, with new service pack installed.  My wife and I each
have our own own separate "account" in Windows XP (no other accounts set
up).  Both accounts have "administrative rights."  When we are both "signed
on", and she decides to "sign off", the computer locks up ...

I have run a few spyware programs and they have all shown my computer to be
clean except for Spybot which consistently shows that I have 5 "DSO
Exploits".  I click 'Fix the Selected Problems' only to return and find them
back there?

Do I need to install Windows XP SP 2 since I have a good
firewall and anti-virus on my computer now?  What are the
pros and cons on installing SP2?  Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Here's a run-down:
- Using MS Outlook 2002, I created a new e-mail and "copied" several
messages from my inbox into the new e-mail.
- I then fowarded the new e-mail with the attached messages to a web-mail

While trying to install/upgrade some software/hardware the following error
message appears:

(the rest of the message is within the error message window)

I have been trying to set several scheduled tasks using
the wizard. When  i click Finish having entered all the
necessary information required by the wizard the following

In Windows Update, I was given an optional hardware update which is to
update the driver for NVIDIA GE4 MX440 SE video adapter.  I followed the
instructions correctly but somehow the installation procedure failed.  This
happened on 2 different occasions, so I am wondering why.

Ever since I upgraded from Windows ME to XP my computer definitely runs
slower. For example, it takes much longer for Word to load, as well as other
programs.  I have 256 megs of RAM.  Is that enough or is that not the problem
