I am having problems with logon it comes up with an error  userinit.exe not found then a wording
along the lines of the procedure entry point setapi cm_disable_devnock could not be located in the
dll library
also CFMGR.32.dll comes up then !!

I just bought a brand new Sony Vaio computer that already
has Windows XP Home Edition installed i wanted to backup
a few files but the problem is that my computer doesn't
have the XP CD so i can't run the backup wizard. Is there

Everytime I logon, "My Documents" opens in two different
windows.  I am new to XP and and would like to logon to
just my desktop.

MS automatically downloaded SP2 even though I changed my automatic update
settings to avoid this.  I do NOT wish to install SP2 at this time, and I do
have SP2 on CD for when I decide to install it.  How can I delete the

I did a basic restore, but when it was over I had the
folders that my information was in, however the files
were all gone. I tried to restore at a later date to see

Is it possible when viewing through files in 'my computer' to view them all
in the same format i.e. as 'list'? Every time I go into another file folder

When I recieve emails with attachments, there sent as application/msword file
types.  But after scanning and downloading my computer saves it in wordpad.  
When it's saved in wordpad I can't access the links enclosed.  How do I

Assuming you have a DVD player, when you have a blank DVD disk in the drive,
how many bytes does windows explorer 'my computer' report for that drive ?
I show 0 bytes both for total size and total free space.
