I understand DAO means data access objects. But I'm wondering if this isn't related to my not being able to write to the 4.x gig DVD's ? A google search brings up page after page of DAO.msi and DVD info on the same lines.

I am very new to computers and want to watch dvd's on my computer. I need something better than Windiws Media Player and Real player. Any suggestions? I rented three from Blockbuster and only 2 would play on either. I have XP Pro on my unit.

i recentley went to re format and noticed my xp upgrade disk had a small crack in it from the inside out about 1 half inch.is there any options available from micro soft on getting a replacement disk ?. Dave
