I have an OEM system that came with WIN XP Home edition, I
decided to upgrade the OS to XP Professional, the system
crash in the middle of the installation giving a
0x000000C2 error.

I spent countless hours compiling information on NotePad
(about 10-14 pages).
I was going to copy/paste my file to Microsoft Word for
editing.  I right-clicked, copied, opened a new Word file,

I saved files, including some word processing, to a floppy but was unable to
open them again (I have XP). I gave the disk to a friend who has windows 2000
who was able to email me some files but not the word stuff which I really

My wife and I just set up a computer for our daughters and son and we want to
control what they can do on it, so we gave them 'Limited' accounts.  We
install a Zone.com game (Bespelled) and everytime you execute it from within
the limited accounts it says that it can only be run ...

Please can someone help...i use xp pro and have 4
accounts set up on the pc ..2 of the accounts are limited
accounts for the children. When i logon to the childrens

I want to change the default folder in XP which is currently My Documents
and so I followed the instructions I found on the microsoft site which said
to add   /n, /e, select, C:\ to the end of the target line in windows
explorer properties but it doesnt seem to change the default ...

My laptop was sent away as it was overheating. Apparently, the cuprit
was a faulty fan.
After getting it back, it seems to shut down after a few minutes of

XP Home SP1 E-Machines PC.  As purchased it worked fine.
Now it works terribly slow.  AVG6 up to date and finds no
virus infection.  Almost every operation that required disk
access in slow as molasses.  Have done a complete defrag.
