I logon as Administrator and when I restart Windows XP has the Guest Account
as the default logon account, which is disabled.
I thought Windows XP Professional remembered the last user account that
logged on.  Is there a plas to set default logon account?

There are 2 separate administrator accounts on my machine. I have the
password for the first but not for the second. When I go to Documents and
Settings in explorer and click on the second user I get the following

Hi - in WIN98 - when I ran a .BAT file, I had the option of keeping the
window around when the script finished.  How do I do this in XP?

i recently had new h/d and xp installed got broadband i now get alerts from
norton a/v about every 10 mins claiming to have deleted trojans and other
viruses i have formatted h/d 5 times reinstalling but these alerts keep
coming. also have trouble getting online even with b/band ...
XP-HOME-SP2 sees 160GB.  BIOS sees 137GB. Can I use 160GB?21 Nov 2004 20:17 GMT9
I'm running XP HOME SP2.  My 160GB hard disk has only the first 120GB
formatted.  My BIOS sees only 137GB of the disk, but both XP Disk
Management and PartitionMagic see 160GB.  There are no BIOS upgrades
available (even from esupport.com).  I don't want to use an ATA card

A friend gave me her computer (old ) and on log in it asks for password. she
dosent know it cause her husband put it in there and he has recently died in
iraq.

This is so simple, it's tragic.  
OS: WINXP HOME SP2
Pentium III, 733MHz, 384MB.  No ATA card or other weirdness.
My hard disk (before):  160GB total.  FAT32. (MAXTOR IDE)

A program created a directory ending in two dots i.e. "myfolder..".
I get this strange message that the folder is not there, when I try to

Hi - in WInXP, Explorer is slow (sometimes really slow) to open folders
with lots of ZIP files in them.  I think this si some sort of
file-searching thing, so that a search looks inside the zip files.
It's a pain in the butt.  I use WINZIP or PKZIP to open ZIP files.  Is

When i log on I have to enter a pass word.. I have an adults side and Kids
side. as i swith  (or log on to my adult side) is says i have "1 unread
