When I've installed Win9x on computers I'd copy the .cab files to the hard drive and setup from there. That way when I installed other programs or made Windows changes I didn't usually have to get my Win9x cd.. the install would use the files on the hard drive. Is there a way to ...

On our club 25 node network, the adobe reader installs everytime a PDF file is opened. This works OK for me with my administrator's rights. But it hangs when a lab user logs on because they have no rights to install

I had a major HD problem which required a clean install of WinXP. I was advised by an MVP in one of these NGs to install my apps from the distribution CDs rather than from backup. I am slowly restoring my data files.

I formated a cdrw disk on my daughters computer to use as a drag and drop file. I brought the disk home to my computer and it won't let me write to the disk. It said write protected. How I make it not write protected? Both machines are xp home.

I am using Windows XP Home with SP2. Some how I got all my folders into the "Read Only" mode. I do not know what I clicked or did to get them that way. Is there any way I can get them all changed so they are not "Read Only"?

I just upgraded a pc from 2000 to xp. In 2000 she had the pc log in directly to her desktop. She totally bypass the ctrl+alt+del screen or any logon credentials. Now in xp it's doing the same thing. She wants the welcome screen when the pc boots up or reboots.

I added a workgroup to my computer called "@HOME" on my PC running Windows XP Professional. Then I restarted my computer and my user name and password no longer get me in. I figure it is looking for a user for this new workgroup I added but I have no idea what it is. Any ideas?
