My AV seems to have trapped the trojan horse "Startpage.12.V" in the System Volume Information\-restore{ }rp457\a0088659.exe . The AV can recognize it but apperently can't access the folder (I can't either) to remove it. It doesn't seem to be affecting the computer ...

For some reason, when I d/l'd & installed SP2 - my entire system is now wacked out (looks weird, is acting funny on most programs: i.e. they never start, etc.). This happened immediately after SP2 came out, too and system restore supposedly "fixed" it the first time.

Ran the compatibility test. Found the usual issues with certain hardware. Only concern was that XP didn't support my modem. Didn't want to convert and not be able to go online to download updated drivers, etc. ?, how do I get the modem issue resolved so that I can convert to XP ...

I just bought WinXP SP2 to replace WinMe. The Me is unusuable as the hard drive got corrupted and now won't load. The problem i have is that as Me won't load i have to load XP in DOS, but when i try i am told that SETUP.EXE can't be loaded in DOS mode, unlike 98

I make "run as" of a .bat file that starts a .fwd file; it works well but i have to close the window with the dos command (file .bat), i would like this doesn't happen, is it possible? Thank in advance

I want to upgrade to XP from 98, but am hesitant. I have a lot of educational software for my childern to use and have been told by numerous people that they may not work on XP. The bulk of the software is window based not dos.
