When I had Win98 on my pc I could just go to the start menu and choose shut
down. My pc would automatically turn off.  Now that I have WinXP(home), when
I do that I get the message "it is now safe to shut off your computer". Then
I have to manually press the on/off button.

I've had the XP upgrade (from ME) for a week now and it keeps freezing up on
me. I usually get to use the PC for a few minutes and then it freezes up.
What causes this and how can I prevent it? I can be online or working on an

I have been using MSN Messenger and I disabled Windows Messenger, but cant
remember how !! I now want to go back to Windows Messenger and have

I have set my screen saver to show "My Pictures".  It
works fine when I am logged on.  But, as soon as I log
off and go to the logon screen, the only screen saver is
the "Windows XP Home Edition" logo.

I installed Adobe Reader 7.0 as an administrator user. A shortcut was placed
in All Users\Desktop. Clicking on the shortcut brought up the reader. When a
