I have a wired problem. I am connected over a basic network ( i think it is

The manner in which the computers are connected is as follows:
1) The main computer is an XP Professional.

I  like create new user accounts in a separate drive ( ie in d:\ for example)
and also move all existing accounts to this drive. Can I just move the
Documents and Setting directory to new drive? If I just drag and drop it will

I set "MY PICTURES" folder to display thumbnails, and want my other files to

I D/L the HOSTS zip from MSMVP.org, unzipped it and dragged the HOSTS (in
upper case) file into
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\etc.

During reformatting, I encountered an inconvenience during installation.
After installing WinXP-pro, it took a few days to update. My computer must
connect to Microsoft update site.  I have a slow modem.  It took forever for
updating WinXP.

During SP2 update,  I got a following error:

I have posted two questions in 1 1/2 days and received quick and accurate
responses to both.  I participated or tried to anyway, in the Win 98 group
and am please to find out that the XP group is just as active.

When I run the Network Setup Wizard, I put in the Workgroup name as

I've just installed XP Prof on my small network with an NT4 server.
I set up the XP administrator password to be the same as for the NT domain.
I then set up a couple of other users and while logged in to one of those,
the Administrator user disappeared from the log-in/switch users ...

I just recently installed windows XP and have a question for the group.  In
win 98, when I selected to shutdown, the operating system would shutdown and
the pc would shut off.
