My new PC has been emitting a chirp, beep sound coming from the tower not the
speakers.  Is this a warning of some kind or normal for Windows XP/

Setting up WindowsXP Home 2002 SP2 on a new system.  How do I remove all of
the pre-bundled, and rather useless icons, that appear on the desktop
without literally deleting them from the system?  Doing a Properties / Hide
only seems to gray them out, rather than truly hiding them ...

When I boot up, I get a few pop ups-the same ones each time. How do I stop
this?

  since updating to sp2 i can no longer delete junk mail ! the only way
round this is to put junk in drafts then deleting from there. which is a bit
of pain, any help would be much appreciated....tnks         eddie.

ive recently installed a cd-rw drive. for about a day or two i was still able
to play my combat flight simulator game. but now it ask's to put the cd in
and when i do it just seems to spin but for some reason tells me it can
locate it! I bought a new disc (monopoly) and it isnt ...

my hard drive is in 2 partitions C & F. C is full but F has 35GB spare. How
can i move my programs folder from C to F without nullifying all the
shortcuts etc and also how can i get downloads to download to F not C. The
reason for this is i am trying to install SP2 but dont have ...

The normal view in Windows Explorer lists folders first and then files.
Thus, regardless of which sort option you choose, folders will always
be listed first and then the files (or files first and then the

I made a copy of a CD that had about 16 tracks on it.  I copied it from the
CD drive to the Hard Drive and then the Hard Drive to the CD-R (or CD-RW I'm
not sure what it is).  In any case, the copy was successful.  The problem I
have is that on my Desk Top I now have about 30 ...

ok here goes i formated my drive becauze it was slow and internet explorer
didint wannt to work so now its like a fresh Windows Xp but on the drive im
supposed to have 27gig of space and only got 6 gig of space left so that
means i wasetn formated . So how to delete the old files ...

Okay, got a print screen key on my keyboard.  How do you make that key
active?  When I get certain boxes that pop up in programs and there is no
way to make it print, it would be nice to have that key work.
