hi! i just got a used computer as a second PC to use while i'm at uni. some
of the programs i need to use (and have been using on my windows 98 PC) won't
run on the xp os that came w/ the computer i just bought. what can i do?

I have recently purchased a new laptop, its has XP 2000.
want to connect to the internet automatically, i have entered my
username and password and clicked on save user and password, but
whenever i restart my pc i have to write my password again.

I login to a domain at work with a username with administrator privileges.  
For a certain reason (stupidity), I logged on as the local administrator,
opened windows explorer, open the properties of my domain user and set the
properties to deny.

Need some help here.
I have set up limited user accounts in the PC (using Windows XP Home) for my
other family members. When they use the PC, an error message always pops out:

I upgraded my Windows ME system to XP service pack 2.  When I try to open my
backup files created by the ME backup utility I get a file type not
recognized error.  Is there anyway I can open or convert my Window ME backups?

I have installed an IOGEAR 232 Serial to USB connector - with the driver.  
The software in am running only recoginzes a COM port that does not match the
location of COM port that the Serial to USB connector shows.
COM4 is the one shown as available

I am seeing 9G usage on C:/, and I checked Windows Explorer for a
breakdown; but the tally comes no where near 9G. Is there another way
to determine disk usage?

password I thought I used is not working.  Is there a way I an uninstall so
that I can reinstall with a new password?
