Hi! Im having a bit of a problem activating my windows. The thing is while
waiting for my adsl modem to arrive the 30 day activation period expired. So
I don´t have an internet connection on the computer in question. I live in

i was have a choice to switch in my control panel fron classic view to
category view.When i update my pc i lost that choice and showing
folders in "my computer" had been changed too.I try to restore the
system but i faild.Is there a way to get it back?

What went wrong? I installed Windows XP and now all my previous FOLDERS are
there but they are empty. I was able to locate all my old stuff in "my
computer"->c:->windows->desktop-> "mom". Folders containing pictures, music,
science reports, etc. All are empty.  What to do?

I have XP Pro and I would say that in the last 5 or 6 days, after I sign into
Windows and it is loaded, the Help & Support window keeps popping up.  This
is more annoying than anything but how do I stop it from doing this?

selection and found two programs that I never used.  They were Java2

when i first purchased my computer, i customized the welcome screen to say
"log back on to **** and ****'s computer" when I "woke" it up from stand by.

No help from other XP group so trying experts here.
When changing pages or any other online update I am briefly seeing a small
page with a "do not enter" type circle over it briefly replacing my cursor.
Actually I believe the page has already displayed prior to it appearing.

Thanks Bert, that did the trick!  I had to think about how to login in
Safe Mode, but I figured it out (msconfig).
