When I start my PC, I see a small window which appears momentarily over

SP2 messed up my system & had to be uninstalled, since then I am getting
random drive letters.
I set the drive letters manually reboot all becomes normal, but the next few
reboots again its reset & show me random drive letter.

I've run CHKDSK  /f  
And also ran error checking with both boxes ticked on the HDD in question ,
after it's finnished i then ran chkdsk and this is what it comes back with.

I am running XP Home on my new Dell laptop. The battery
power meter does not show up in the taskbar. Although in the Control
Panel -> Power Options -> Advanced , the checkbox "Always show icon on the

The ads on my web pages are blocked, but I haven't knowingly set up an ad

Had to reinstall XP so I'm sort of starting over.  Color quality is at 16

since instaling sp2 i have started getting runtime errors on vid players and
movie maker, its only started since i installed sp2..i am rinning mcafee
virus programme and firewall why do i need sp2 as well??????  its been a
